1. What We Collect (and What We Don’t)

Data we do not collect through the app

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA). We do not track you across apps or websites.

Anonymous usage analytics (TelemetryDeck)

To improve TimerCoach, we use TelemetryDeck to receive anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (for example, which timer modes are used most often). TelemetryDeck is designed to avoid collecting personally identifiable information.

According to TelemetryDeck’s documentation, the TelemetryDeck SDK for apps transmits only the data that the app publisher sends, and typically includes:

• An anonymized user ID that is constant per app installation and not traceable back to personal information
• App events/actions defined by us (e.g., “Timer Started”, “Settings Opened”)
• A timestamp rounded to the nearest hour
• Device metadata (e.g., OS version, app version/build, device type, App Store/TestFlight indicator)
• Optional additional metadata defined by us (we keep this minimal)

IP addresses: TelemetryDeck states that IP addresses are never stored on TelemetryDeck servers (neither in the database nor in log files).

Where analytics data is hosted: TelemetryDeck distributes servers across Azure (Amsterdam), AWS (Frankfurt), and Hetzner (Germany).

2. Local Data Storage (On-Device Only)

TimerCoach stores data such as workout history, custom timer settings, and preferences locally on your device. This data is not synchronized to any servers operated by us.

3. Camera Usage (Smart Overlay)

TimerCoach requests access to your device’s camera only for the Smart Overlay feature (to help you view your form during workouts).

• On-device processing: the camera feed is processed in real time on your device
• No recording: no video or images are recorded, saved, or transmitted
• No third-party access: camera data is not shared with third parties

4. Third-Party Services

Apart from TelemetryDeck (described above), TimerCoach does not integrate with third-party advertising networks or tracking services.

5. When You Contact Us

If you contact us by email, we will process the information you provide (e.g., your email address and message content) solely to respond to your request and provide support.

6. Children’s Privacy

TimerCoach is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
